Words are important, they are part of our human history and they have evolved and continue to evolve. You are part of it, I am part of it, and there is a beauty to this. For instance, in the time that I have been alive, I have heard the word "selfie"is part of the dictionary nowadays, thus I see this as the language evolving. I may need to fact check if this word is indeed in the dictionary, but we will remain focused on this current topic. 

Our English language constantly grows, evolves. In one of the oldest Indo European languages of Sanskrit, many words have a root word and another word with it that creates a new word. For instance the posture known as triangle pose or trikonasana. This word consists of three words Tri: Means "three" Kona: Means "angle" or "corner Asana: Means"posture " or"seat. Thank you google! 

I personally am fascinated with the etymology of words. Knowing the etymology of words brings a certain joy. I am a person who values and respects different truths, efficiency, clarity and visiting the etymology provides all that and in turn, a certain joy! 

Efficiency because I am able to know more words all because I know the root word of “Tri”

Thus, America, this word can conjure up many different ideas. Have you ever looked at the etymology of it?

America - from my rabbithole adventures, I learned that the term comes from an  Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci. The name was first used in 1507 by German cartographer Martin Waldseemüller (thanks google!) So, 2015-1507=518. 

Not only do I like words, but I also like understanding what happened in the past to understand and respect our future. According to this, the term is only 518 years!
