América Part 3

 I am from South America and from North America, I am a double American! I hear people say he/she is “American”, I know what they mean, he/she is gringo or from Europe.

I specify is he from North, South or central? Then I gently remind myself that everyone from South America and Central America, Canada, Mexico is American. So I take the term back and correctly give it to the continent of the Americas, rather than only to the citizens of the USA. 

Remember the name is of the full country that was conceived in 1776, (2025-1776=249) the United States of America. I do see the word in there, as part of the name. I also recently learned Mexico’s full country name: United States of Mexico! 

We can see here that the term America is 518 years old and the USA is 249 years old. 

When I see “Make America Great Again”, or  when I hear that he/she is American I often feel confused and just want to experience clarity in the language. Therefore, América is bigger term than just than the USA.
